Co się składa na cenę tłumaczenia?

Bardzo często otrzymuję od osób prywatnych maile typu: „Panie Michale, mam pięć stron przetłumaczenia na angielski. Ile będzie mnie to kosztować?”. Odpowiedź jest prosta: nie wiem. Zawszę wtedy proszę o dokument do wglądu – wówczas mogę wycenić zlecenie. Dlaczego?

Po pierwsze, strona stronie nierówna. Dla tłumacza, strona to najczęściej 1800 znaków ze spacjami lub 250 słów, zaś w przypadku tłumaczeń poświadczonych wykonanych przez tłumacza przysięgłego – 1125 znaków ze spacjami. W praktyce, rzadko kiedy fizyczne pięć stron dokumentu odpowiada pięciu stronom rozliczeniowym tłumaczeniu. Czasami jest mniej, czasami więcej.
Po drugie, tematyka zlecenia. Specjalizuję się w tłumaczeniach prawniczych, ekonomicznych i biznesowych. Cena zlecenia jest proprocjonalna do trudności tłumaczenia – czasami wdrążenie się w temat zajmuje więcej niż samo tłumaczenie!

Po trzecie, termin. Zlecenia na „wczoraj” będą zawsze droższe, ponieważ nikt nie lubi zarywać nocy pracując. Standardowo jestem w stanie przetłumaczyć około 6 – 8 stron rozliczeniowych dziennie. Nie da się więcej bez utraty jakości tłumaczenia. Jestem tylko człowiekiem, też muszę spać.
Po czwarte, format dostarczonego dokumentu. Szybciej tłumaczy się dokumetny w edytowalnym formacie (np. Word czy pdf). Tłumaczenie dokumentów pisanych odręcznie, skanów czy fotokopii, szczególnie słabej jakości, jest zawsze droższe.
